A group, Southern Kaduna Progressives Youth Network has pledged to organize the first successful recall process of Senator Sunday Katung, who represents Kaduna Zone 3 in the Upper Chamber.
This announcement was contained in a statement signed by Comrade Al-Amin Abbas Jere and Comrade Kazah Dauda Auta, the Chairman and Secretary of the group, respectively.
The group responded to a statement issued by Simon Solomon and Aruwa Alhassan, who claimed to be the Coordinator and Secretary of the Southern Kaduna People’s Union (SOKAPU) Youth Wing.
“These self-proclaimed leaders condemned the group’s earlier call to recall Senator Katung. In response, the Southern Kaduna Progressives Youth Network labeled them as impostors, asserting that they will not be distracted from their mission.”
The call for the recall is based on allegations concerning an international money laundering case currently under investigation.
In this case, Senator Katung’s wife has allegedly implicated him by stating that he sent her 120 million Naira from Nigeria through an unlicensed Bureau de Change.
