Women Arise group yesterday called on the Nigeria Police Force to ensure that the victim of a drunken Mobile Police (MOPOL) torment must be taken up by the police, properly treated and compensated.
President, Women Arise Group, Dr. Joe Okei-Odumakin in a statement said that the erring officer, now identified properly as Nasir Muhammed by the police must be helped with a psychiatric check.
“We need be sure that men recruited into our police force have no traces of mental disorder.”
Okei-Odumakin said the erring police officer must be immediately dismissed, “We must make good example of him to deter other officers who act with impunity, oppress citizens arbitrarily, or have disposition to do so.”
The group said it was grieved by the increasing spate of horrible, terrible and awkward show of muscle by men in police uniform.
