The Northern Youth Assembly (NYA) and the Zamfara State Civil Society Network (ZCSN) have jointly threatened filing a case before a competent court challenging a Governing Council Chairperson of the Federal College of Education (Technical) Gusau, Madam Iyabo over alleged selfish appointment of a new provost to run the affairs of the college.
The groups disclosed this at a joint press conference by the National President of the NYA, Munir Haidara and the Chairman of the ZCSN, Anas Sani Anka yesterday in Gusau Zamfara state capital.
They alleged that, the embattled chairperson of the FCE(T) Governing Council had finger-pointed at incompetent person to replace a successful candidate that sat and passed the just concluded interview seeking for the post of provost of the college.
“The mission of the chairperson is to secure her favourite candidates into all the key integral positions in the college because, the outcome of the interview conducted by the panels set of by the council had recommended Dr. Rabia’atu Musa Mafara out of 3 best performing
candidates.”
“Therefore, we suggest that the chairperson should allow the Minister and President Buhari to decide who emerges as competent provost among the shortlisted names of candidates that attended the interview.”
The groups said they already embarked on consultation with PM Lasco Chambers in preparation of instituting a court case against the chairperson and some unpatriotic members of the council who happened to be indigenes of Zamfara state.
“We have already petitioned the chairperson seeking her to reverse the paid interview publications earlier placed on the national dailies hence the other interview conducted is in line with the laid down procedures,” they said.
