GSK intervention reduces child mortality rate to 3.9 percent in Kiyawa LG

The intervention made by the GlaxoSmithKline GSK through Save the Children International under INSPRING project has reduced the child mortality rate from 12.3 percent to 3.9 percent in Kiyawa local government area of Jigawa state.

This development was announced by the manager Primary Healthcare of Kiyawa local government, Malam Musa Muhammadu during a town hall meeting held at palace of Kiyawa district head as parts of 2021 International Pneumonia day celebration organized by the Save the Children International (SCI).

According to him, the SCI fight against  pneumonia as mother to child killer diseases  has drastically reduced rampant death of child in Kiyawa local government.

He maintained that, INSPIRING project with support from GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) and councils PHC department provided facilities with medical equipment worth more than N50 million.
