Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has revealed his team’s points target to win the English Premier League as Liverpool and Chelsea continue to chase.
The English champions are currently just six points ahead of Liverpool – who are second with a game in hand.
Pep shared his points target soon after the Cityzens took a shock 3-2 defeat from Antonio Conte’s Tottenham Hotspur last weekend.
The Spanish manager says his team needs up to 96 points to successfully defend what is the most challenging league title in the world.
“In football, everything can happen. The margin against Liverpool is nothing,” the 51-year-old said.
“We have to win a lot – more than 90 points – 95, 96 to be champions.
“We can lose, but it’s the way we lose [that’s important]. You can lose in different ways. Many times, when we lose, we lose as a great team and we have to continue in this way.
Athletes will be able to protest against social injustice at this summer’s Commonwealth Games.
Competitors at Birmingham 2022 will be able to raise a fist to protest in favour of racial equality and wave Pride flags in support of LGBT+ rights.
The Commonwealth Games Federation (CGF) will support athletes who want to highlight issues such as race, sexual orientation and social injustice.
This contrasts with the International Olympic Committee’s (IOC) ‘Rule 50’.
‘Rule 50’ of the Olympic charter aims to stop protests and demonstrations in order to “protect the neutrality of sport and the Olympic Games”, however it was relaxed for Tokyo 2020.
