No less than a total of two hundred and ninety cows were carted away by some unknown gunmen, in Kutunku community, Gwagwalada Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
Our correspondent gathered that the incident occurred around 2 am on Wednesday, when the robbers shot periodically, which scared the people of the community.
According to reliable sources also revealed that the bandits had been strategizing severally to steal the cows before they finally succeeded in their evil act on the fateful morning.
It was also gathered that about 180 cows belonging to one justice Mwada Balami, 80 cows belonging to the Secretary of Kuje area council (names not given) were carted away by the bandits during the operation.
Furthermore, it was learnt that about 30 cows belonging to Mr. Haruna Dan-Maraye Zaki, a butcher in Gwagwalada was also stolen by the gunmen.
When contacted, a source at the Gwagwalada police unit command confirmed that one person was arrested and detained as a principal suspect regarding to the stealing of Balami’s cows.
