Gunmen kidnap female journalist in Adamawa

A Female Journalist, Hajiya Amra Ahmed working with the Adamawa Broadcasting Cooperation (ABC) Yola has been kidnapped by yet to identified gunmen.

Reports had it that, Amra, who is an Editor in the state radio station and a nursing mother was abducted at the wee hours of Tuesday night at her husband’s house in Mamba quarters.

Amra is a nursing mother who only resumed work recently after her maternity leave.

An impeccable source told Peoples Daily that, the suspected  kidnappers numbering about 15 invaded the residence by forcefully  breaking in to the sitting room door and gained access into the bedroom, asking the whereabout of the husband of the victim.

In the absence of the husband, they abducted the wife, leaving behind her six month old baby.

It was however observed that the gunmen in recent times have been terrorising the people of Mbamba community and Sabon Pegi of Doctors Quarters areas of Yola South Local Government Area.

Confirming the incident, the image maker of Adamawa State Police Command, DSP Sulaiman Nguroje said, the journalist was abducted at her husband’s house at Mbamba between the hours of 1:00am to 2:00am on Tuesday.

He noted that the police are on the trail of the kidnapers, promising to rescue her and bring the perpetrators to book.
