Unknown gunmen have shot dead a woman identified as Theresa Awuhe at Gyado Villa, Makurdi at the weekend.
Peoples Daily gathered that Theresa was shot on her way home from her shop.
According to a resident who pleaded anonymity, Tessy wass going home at about 10 pm in company of her relations who visited her in the shop.
“She passed through a short path home when suddenly someone appeared from nowhere with a pistol and shot her from behind. The other two(2)women one of them had a baby, took to their heels.
“She fell down and shouted Jesus and the attacker shot again, then went close and shot on close range. It is a clear case of assassination. No money or handset was taken from her and the gunman walked away freely.
“There are several insinuations concerning her death. It is alleged that a man who established a business for her,later discovered that she was no longer interested in the relationship.”
