The Principal of Government Day Secondary School (GDSS) in Gwagwalada Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Alhaji Bello Sulaiman Ajekunle, has urged the management of Secondary Education Board (SEB) as well as philanthropists to erect multi-purpose hall in the school for the sake of examination and social activities there.
The principal also requested for the standard library/e-library, ICT centre, modern laboratories/equipment, office and classrooms furniture.
Ajekunle stated this while delivering his speech during the 4th edition of the inter-house/cultural competition held on Wednesday at the school premises, further called on the government of Gwagwalada Area Council to put in place speed limit bumps at the entrance of the school to prevent accident.
According to the Principal, “GDSS Gwagwalada is committed to supporting cultural activities of our student as well as providing the necessary support for talented students to ensure they reach their goals”.
He said: “Under no circumstance, should a person abandon his or her culture. I want to call upon each and everyone of us to try at all possible levels to appreciate and feel proud of their culture. It will make us stand tall wherever we find ourselves”.
Also speaking at the occasion, the Director/Secretary in charge of the FCT Secondary Education Board (SEB) who was represented by Abdulhamid Shehu advised the students who did not win the competition to accept the defeat in good faith.
