Niger health workers charge on effective service delivery

Niger State Commissioner for Primary Health Care, Doctor Ibrahim Ahmed Dangana, has charged health sector workers in the state to intensify efforts in ensuring effective and efficient service delivery in the sector.
The commissioner who stated this during an interactive maiden meeting with Directors of Local Government Primary Health Care Providers in the state, urged them to ensure punctuality, dedication, and renewed commitment to their duties.
He underscored the vital role they play in supporting the administration’s agenda and its pursuit of success to make Niger State among best 3 states of providing qualitative accessible and affordable Primary Health Care Services in Nigeria.
The Commissioner highlighted the administration’s deep interest in the state’s healthcare system, spanning from primary healthcare to tertiary and specialized Healthcare Services.
He maintained that the fund to be disbursed from one percent consolidated Revenue from the Federal Government with State counterpart fund already paid that must be spend judiciously for the purchase of essential medicines, disinfectant, stationaries among others.
The Commissioner emphasised the government’s unwavering commitment to the well-being of the people of the State just as funds to be release through Direct Fund Facilities DFF, quarterly to the sum of over N300,000 to each of the 274 PHC focal facilities out of existing one thousand eight hundred PHC centres across the state.
In his remarks, Permanent Secretary, Doctor Abdullahi Imam disclosed that the meeting is aimed at ensuing effective PHC service delivery, made available funds accrue to each Local Government centres to strengthened their services, while charging for accountability of the money provided by the ministry.
