Jigawa wheat farmers laud FMAN for interventions

The wheat farmers in Jigawa state, have commended the Flour Milling Association of Nigeria (FMAN) for the Interventions during the dry season wheat farming in the state.
The commendation was made by the farmers who benefitted from the program, while speaking to journalists during the wheat farmers green field day, held on Wednesday at Ringim local government area in Jigawa.
Speaking during the event, the Chairman Jigawa state Wheat Farmers Association Alhaji Mujtaba Bayi described the FMAN interventions as step to achieve food security and reduce youths unemployment.
He explained that, last year 3,000 wheat farmers benefitted, but with support and concern from present administration in the state, saying about 8,000 wheat farmers benefitted from the FMAN interventions this year.
Alhaji Mujtaba who promised bumper wheat harvest ever recorded this year in the state, said the association combined the grassroots farmers that benefited support from FMAN.
He identified the Interventions given to thousands of Farmers as improved and certified wheat seeds, fertilizer, agro-chemicals as well as the extension workers advices.
