Gwagwalada Secretary reaffirms loyalty, support for Council Chairman

The Secretary of Gwagwalada Area Council in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Hon. Agu Okechukwu Samuel has pledged to support the Executive Chairman of the Area Council, Hon. Mohammed Kasim inorder to move the council to the next level.
Samuel made the promise while speaking on behalf of the newly sworn in supervisory councilors and Senior Special Assistants at the council’s chamber in Gwagwalada.
He assured the people of the Area Council that he would pursue policies and programmes that would bring development to the council.
He called on the political appointees to always join hands with the Chairman to provide purposeful leadership capable of satisfying theaspirations of the electorates in the area.
He also pleaded with the appointees to co-operate with the Chairman to enable him to correct some abnormalities confronting the Area Council,
and urged them to make sacrifices to better the council.
While fielding the questions from newsmen after the screening exercise by the lawmakers of the Area Council, the Council Secretary said he would carry out his duties based on the rules, principles and ethics of the Area Council for the benefit of the people.
Also speaking, Chairman of the Council, urged the appointees to see their appointment as divined intervention from God.
Kasim told the appointees that any of them who misbehaved can be removed within thirty-days saying that he would not compromse standard.
He charged the appointees to deem it fit to contribute their quota to the progress of the Area Council, and congratulated the appointees for scaling through the screening.
He advised those supporters who were not favoured to be appointed tofeel that they are bonafide member of the present administration ofthe Area Council pointing out that those who were appointed did not better than them.
The Chairman, however, said his leadership would carry everybody alongin the affairs of things in the Area Council, thanking the legislators for their support and co-operation.
In their separate remarks, the former Chairmen of the Area Council, Hon. Isah Egah Dobi and Hon. Adamu Mustapha Deze, urged theelectorates to support Kasim in all ramifications.
