Hajj: Kaduna begins visa processing for pilgrims

Kaduna State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board has commenced processing the  isas of it’s over 5,672 registered intending pilgrims for this year’s Hajj.

The Overseer of the Board, Kabiru Kasimu disclosed this at the flag-off of training of the state appointed officials at Mando Hajj Transit Camp, Kaduna.

The overseer said the Saudi Embassy in Kano has commenced issuance of Visa this week to Nigerian pilgrims, the board would immediately send over 1,500 visas applications already compiled to the visa office in Kano.

“I am happy to announce to you that I have just received a call from NAHCON Abuja that the Saudi Authority has opened its visa office in Kano which is an indication that they will commence the issuance of visa to our pilgrims. Though, the little delay in the issuance of the visa is a challenge but we hope to complete the remaining visa application of our pilgrims so as to forward it to their office in Kano,” he said.

Alhaji Kabir Kasim further assured all 5,760 registered pilgrims in the state that they would all be airlifted in good time to the holy land despite the little delay in issuance of visa by the Saudi authority.

The Overseer also commended the state governor, Mukhtar Ramalan Yero for all the support rendered to the board, particularly to intending pilgrims of the state.

He added that the state governor has assisted greatly in the re-opening of the Mando Hajj Transit camp after three years of closure.

While declaring the Seminar opened, Governor Yero charged the appointed officials to fear Allah and discharge their duties diligently.

According to him, there is the need for the officials to always render assistance to pilgrims while in the holy land, saying this was the reason why they were appointed officials.

He assured the board of his administration’s readiness to render all necessary support that will lead to recording hitch-free Hajj exercise in the state.

Permanent Secretary Bureau for Religious Affairs, (Islamic Matters),  Alhaji Abdulrahaman Mahamoud assured the governor of hitch-free hajj exercise for the state.
