The Mandate Secretary, FCT Education Secretariat, Dr. Danlami Hayyo, and the Permanent Secretary, Health Services and Environment Secretariat, Dr. Baba-Gana Adam led a number of top officials of the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) to shower praises on the Pioneer Permanent Secretary of Education Secretariat, Mr. Prospect Chukwuemeka Ibe, who retired from active civil service after clocking 60 years of age.
In particular, most speakers had described Ibe as a goal oriented and well experienced civil servant.
All the outpour of encomiums took place during a brief valedictory ceremony organised in honour of Mr. Ibe, at Government Science Secondary School (GSSS), Pyakasa, Maitama, Abuja.
For Dr. Hayyo, who hailed the ex-Permanent Secretary, describing him as a vast and experienced civil servant, who has contributed in the transformation of the FCT Education Secretariat.
He noted that one major thing that would be missed from the pioneer Education Permanent Secretary, which is hard to be gotten from a lot of staff is ‘trust worthiness.’
“I wish the FCT Administration will continue to get this type of personalities as staff with open mindedness and full of ‘trust’ at all time.
I urge all the staff to emulate his good exemplary life style for better achievements”, Hayyo stated.
Also speaking, the Dr. Adam, commended the maturity and decency the Mr. Ibe has shown during his days of service; urging all staff to emulate his good legacies.
Similarly, the Permanent Secretary, Social Development Secretariat, Mrs. Olubumi Olowokere, noted that Ibe deserve to be honoured as such, because of his tremendous achievements in the career.
She particularly described him as a hard working and goal oriented personality.
Responding, Ibe thanked the FCT Minister, Barr. Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, for seeing him worthy for an opportunity to serve on that capacity.
He added that the position has granted him more opportunity to explore at the peak of his career as a civil servant.
He also appreciated all the staff of FCT Administration for their huge support given to him while in service, assuring them that his wealth of experience will always be made available where and when needed.
The highlight of the colourful programme was the unveiling of the press clips and action in pictures publication in honour of the retired pioneer Permanent Secretary, Education Secretariat.
It was gathered that the publication put together by the Information/ Public Relations Unit of the Education Secretariat is a documentation of historical record and key moments of the retired Permanent Secretary’s contributions during his tenure.
