The Adamawa state Ministry of Health in collaboration with state primary Health Care Development Agency,SPHCDA has presented awards of recognition to six local government councils for outstanding performances in health care delivery in the state.
Presenting the award plaques to various executive secretaries of the primary health care departments of the six local governments at the 2018 Steering Committee Meeting and Award Ceremony in Yola yesterday, Adamawa State Commissioner of Health, Dr.Fatima Atiku Abubakar said as health experts who provide humanitarian services are always good to appreciate excellent performance.
Dr.Abubakar urged the stakeholders in the sector to put more efforts in their endeavour so as to add value to the services being rendered to humanity .
She encouraged the executive secretaries from the local councils and critical stakeholders to ensure all health services are observed in their localities so that the communities can benefit on scheduled national and state own programmes .
She announced that, Toungo local government area emerged overall winner of immunisation programme, Madagali local government won award of best council in administrating family planning while Yola north local government clenched PNTC or HIV/AIDS control award.
According to the commissioner, Mubi north council picked best award for skilled birth attendant performance, Yola north local government won that of best council controlling malaria epidemic as well as Gombi local government area received award of best council in Nutrition promotion.
Earlier in his welcome address, the Executive Chairman of the State Primary Health Care Development Agency,Dr.Abdullahi Belel said commitment and dedication informed the hilarious achievement.
Dr. Belel added that the gesture gave the steering committee a good and excellent recognition thereby taking the state (Adamawa) to her current position of best state in health care delivery nationally.
Belel therefore charged the critical health stakeholders to redouble efforts in maintaining if not improve their efforts.
