Taraba state governorship aspirant under the Peoples Democratic party (PDP), Sen. Barr. Emmanuel Bwacha has expressed displeasure over the desecration on the person of former governor Jolly Nyame by some individuals in the state.
Sen. Bwacha while addressing Journalist shortly after receiving governorship form, purchased by PDP youth, he decried that such desecration would not be forgiven by God in heaven.
Peoples daily reports that an Abuja base loyal, Barrister Badmus, initiated a case at the federal high court Jalingo, seeking a clear interpretation of a presidential pardon given to former governor Nyame after over three year in person over misappropriation of state funds.
The suit also sought the disqualification of the former governor from contesting in any elective position.
Correspondent also reports that the court had on Monday, 4th. June, 2026, bared former governor Nyame from contesting the 2027 election, pending an explicit explanation of his presidential pardon.
Meanwhile, senator Bwacha while reacting to the development said, “Those blacklisting Nyame would not be forgiven by God; He is a standing farther that deserves to be respected by all Tarabans”. He declared.
The PDP governorship aspirant lamented the recent declaration of the federal high court Jalingo, baring Reverend Nyame from contesting election after presidential pardon.
Bwacha also described the action as an act of disrespect to the elder statesman, by sponsors of the court case.
“Disrespecting Nyame, is as disrespecting the entire Taraba state; His legacies as governor were not selfish, and have stood to impact generations to come”.
Meanwhile, the 2023 APC governorship candidate assured that he would restore governance and build trust, if elected in 2027.
“My desire is to restore governance and build trust, away from corruption; We will ensure transparency, and promote dividend.
“We will ensure that monies coming to the state are legitimately utilize for the development of the state, I have target to re-introduce the era of infrastructural development, create skills training centres to ensure that our youths become employers of labour.
“We will invest in agriculture, attract modern way of farming to boost productivity and interest base for our farmers. Our desire is to transform the education and health sector to meet the global standard. We will equip the hospitals with high-class equipment, and ensure regular training for health workers.
“Road constructions would be one of our major priority. We have target to link rural communities to town and markets for easy accessibility and transportation of farm produce. These, we believe would enhance connection between farmers and middlemen, and also boost the state revenue status”. He assured.
The governorship aspirant however denounced the existence of a factional PDP in the state, considering the supreme court judgement.
Bwacha informed that his coming was to reunite the PDP family, and restore the Taraba’s lost glories for the future of the citizens.
