Kaduna State Aids Control Agency (KADSACA), Executive Secretary Haliru Musa Abubakar has reiterated the agency’s commitment and readiness to continue partnering with the media in the fight against HiV/Aids and Prevention from Mother to Child Transmission in the State.

Speaking at a workshop on Preventing Mother to Children Transmission of HIV/ AIDs, organized for members of Journalists Against PTMC in the state, the ES said Media have a greater role to play in the fight against the disease in the country.

He added that the role of the media in fight against HIV/AIDS and other health related diseases cannot be over emphasized.

“This is why we at KADSACA are ever ready to partner with the media in an effort to eradicate HIV/ AIDS in the state. We are also ever ready to eradicate mother to child transmission of the virus but we need the support of the media in our struggle,” he said.

The Executive Secretary spoke through the Agency’s Chief Information/ Behavoural Change Communication Officer, Emmanuel Anche at the event.

He explained that the agency has confidence in the media in their quest to eradicate, if not eliminate HIV/AIDS and transmission from mother to child in the state.

Earlier, National Deputy Coordinator of Journalists Against Transmission of HIV/ AIDS from Mother to Child in the country, Mrs Tamani Yusuf charged journalists to be more committed in the fight against HIV/AIDS, saying with total commitment, the virus can be eradicated in the state and country at large.
