The end bad governance protest which was expected to be peaceful took another dimension in Gombe, as protesters vandalised all posters belonging to governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya.
The protesters who chanted in hausa language holding placards were said to have thrown stones at the gate of Government House.
However, it took the of the police, who stormed after some time to disperse the protesters, using tear-gas cannisters on them.
When contacted the police through telephone, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), ASP Buhari Abdullahi confirm to journalists that the Commissioner of police and other heads of security agencies were on ground to foster peace.
It was observed that the government house which is situated at the city centre witness massive turned out of youths that engaged themselves on the protest for bad governance in the country.
While the procession was on going police had to tear-gas protesters in some part of the town avoiding any breach of law and property saying that effort is being made by the government to dialogue with the youth for peaceful coexistence.
Our correspondent reports that the protesters are expected to continue with their protest as they entered day two, following the ultimatum given to government to participate in the action for ten days.
As expected, the police in Gombe had beef up presence of security personnel at strategic places in city centre, in order to protect lives and property.
