How Tinubu, Wike renewed our hope – FCTA HoS

Head of Service (HoS), Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA), Dr. Samuel Udo Atang has revealed how President Bola Tinubu, has, through the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, renewed the hope of the over 8000 staff of the FCT Administration.
Atang, who clocked 60 on 27th March, made this declaration during a special birthday celebration organised in his honour at the Executive Hall of the International Conference Centre, Abuja.
He noted that from not being able to produce one permanent secretary, the FCT Administration has transformed into boasting of one head of service and ten permanent secretaries.
The pioneer head of service noted that the staff of the Administration have never had it so good, stressing that with the ventilation in the new FCTA system, every staff was a potential permanent secretary and head of service.
Continuing, he disclosed that issues of staff welfare were paramount to the FCT Minister, revealing that he (Wike) wasted no time in approving promotion of over 8,000 staff carried in the exercise of 2023.
He also listed other commendable actions taken by the Minister which have given the staff hope, including granting of approval to elongation of service to nursing teachers, as well as for the payment of all outstanding allowances.
Earlier, in a goodwill message, a former Senior Special Assistant to immediate past-FCT Minister, Ikharo Attah called on the directors to close ranks and work for the overall success of the Administration.
Attah advised them to take the elevation of the head of service as an act of God, stressing that power was only from God, adding that with the large openings, they took would get elevated, even as he urged them against keeping of files so as to accelerate development of the Territory.
Similarly, in her goodwill message, Secretary, Women Affairs Secretariat, Adedayo Benjamins-Laniyi, who extolled the virtues and professionalism of the celebrant, congratulated him on turning 60 and on his latest appointment.
In her welcome message, Acting Director, Reformed Coordination and Service Improvement, Dr. Jumai Ahmadu, stated that the staff were overjoyed with Wike’s life-transforming changes.
Ahmadu assured that FCTA staff were highly motivated and therefore determined to give their best to improve service delivery and increase productivity.
