Hundreds Attend Funeral of Jigawa Golden Stars’ Longest-Serving Team Manager, Dodo Isa Hadejia

Hundreds of Muslim faithful from across Nigeria on Monday attended the funeral prayer for late Alhaji Dodo Isa Hadejia, the longest-serving team manager of Jigawa Golden Stars Football Club.

The funeral rites, conducted in accordance with Islamic traditions, were held at the deceased’s residence in Dalla Quarters, Hadejia Local Government Area of Jigawa State.

The funeral prayer was led by Imam Muhammad Aminu, after which the remains of the renowned football administrator and technocrat were buried at the Hadejia Kudu Cemetery in Hadejia town.

Dodo Isa died at the age of 61 and is survived by his wife, children and other family members.

Among the dignitaries who attended the funeral were the Jigawa State Commissioner for Information, Youth, Sports and Culture, Alhaji Sagiru Musa Ahmad; Director of the Jigawa State Sports Council, Alhaji Ali Muhammad Ibrahim Gumel; and the Chairman of the Kano State Football Association and member of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) Board, Alhaji Sharif Rabi’u Inuwa Ahlan.

Others included a former Director of the Jigawa State Sports Council, Alhaji Sha’aibu Hadejia; Vice Chairman of the Jigawa State Football Association, Alhaji Barde Zakka; National Ex-Officio of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) in charge of the North-West, Rilwanu Idris Malikawa Garu; as well as officials and players of Jigawa Golden Stars.

Governor Namadi Condoles Family

Shortly after the burial, Commissioner Sagiru Musa Ahmad, who conveyed the condolences of Jigawa State Governor Umar Namadi, described the late Dodo Isa as a hardworking and dedicated sports administrator.

He said the deceased made significant sacrifices towards the development and promotion of sports, particularly football, in Jigawa State and Nigeria.

The commissioner prayed to Almighty Allah to forgive the deceased’s shortcomings, grant him Jannatul Firdaus and give his family the strength to bear the loss.

NFF Mourns Veteran Football Administrator

The President of the Nigeria Football Federation, Alhaji Ibrahim Musa Gusau, MON, represented by NFF Board member Sharif Rabi’u Inuwa Ahlan, described Dodo Isa’s death as a great loss to the Nigerian football community.

According to him, the death of the veteran football administrator has created a vacuum within the football family that would be difficult to fill.

He urged younger generations of football administrators and enthusiasts to emulate the good qualities and dedication of the late Dodo Isa.

He also prayed for Allah’s mercy on the deceased and asked that Jannatul Firdaus be his final abode.
