ICPC go after Enugu PDP governorship candidate

The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has launched a search for a former Minister of Innovation, Science and Technology, Uche Nnaji, over his alleged certificate forgery.

Nnaji was appointed minister by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in August 2023 but had to resign in October 2025 over his degree certificate.

Since then, the former minister has been visibly involved in politics, joining forces with the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) after dumping the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

In late May, Nnaji emerged as the Enugu state governorship candidate of the Nyesom Wike-backed PDP faction ahead of the 2027 general election.

The ICPC claimed it has been investigating Nnaji’s alleged forgery and the renewed interest to arrest him has nothing to do with politics.

According to a report by Premium Times, the current interest in him is because he has failed to honour several invitations by the anti-graft agency regarding allegation of forging his degree and NYSC certificates.

“The ICPC is looking for him everywhere to possibly arrest him, and if we can’t find him, we will most likely declare him wanted,” a source was quoted by the paper as saying.
