The Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Rilwan Disu, has approved the posting of new Police Public Relations Officers and Public Relations Liaison Officers to selected Commands and Formations of the Nigeria Police Force.
The posting is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen strategic communication, improve public access to credible Police information and enhance engagement with the media and other stakeholders.
A statement issued by the Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Aniete Iniedu on Friday, said that the IGP charged the officers to uphold professionalism, responsiveness and accuracy in the discharge of their duties, while ensuring timely dissemination of verified information and sustaining constructive engagement with members of the public and the media.

The officers affected by the posting are SP Johnson A. Doghudje as Police Public Relations Officer, Zone 5; SP Ojedele Olanrewaju Tunji, Zone 11, Osogbo; DSP Orchia Adndongu, Benue State Police Command, and DSP Imah Unwana Victor, Nigeria Police Force National Cybercrime Centre.
Similarly, ASP Abdulaziz Maharazu has been posted as spokesman of the Police Academy (POLAC); ASP Yusuf Adamu Aliyu, Yobe State Police Command; and ASP Haruna Rashid Umar Abdullahi as Public Relations Liaison Officer for the FCID Annex, Gombe State.
The statement urged members of the press and the general public to always contact the respective officers for verified information and enquiries concerning Police activities within their Areas of Responsibility.
It said that the Nigeria Police Force remains committed to strengthening transparency, public communication and constructive engagement, which are essential components of effective and people-centred policing.
