IGP inducts 147 security personnel into disaster management

In a bid to tackle high profile crimes, the Inspector General of Police, (IGP) Mr. Ibrahim Idris has inducted a total of 147 joint security personnel into disaster and emergency management.
The senior officers across the Police Zone 5, comprising Edo, Delta and Bayelsa states, were drawn from Nigeria Police Force, Nigerian Army, the Directorate of the Security Service (DSS), Nigeria Civil Defence Corpse (NSCDC) and the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC), had undergone a five-Day incident training course.
In a remark during the presentation of certificates to officers at the Police training school,
Ogida Barracks at the weekend in Benin, the Inspector-general of Police, Mr. Ibrahim Idris, assured that the training would boost the operational capability on the security personnel.
The IGP who was represented by Edo state Commissioner of Police, Mr. Babatunde Johnson Kokumo, charged the security personnel to domesticate the knowledge gained in the training at their various places of assignment and impact their subordinate.
The Chief Facilitator of the Programme, Okon Etim Asuquo, said the course participants were trained on contemporary policing challenges issues through role play, group discussions, presentations simulations, lectures as well as practicals.
Responding on behalf of the course participants, CSP, Rita Abe, urged the leadership of the various security agencies the Country to expand the scope of the training to junior personnel and take the welfare of trainees seriously.
The spokesman of Edo state Police Command, DSP, Mr. Chidi Nwabuzor, was among the officers who participated in the course which and states, which was supported by the British Embassy in Nigeria.
