The father of Big Brother Naija All Stars winner, Big Brother Naija contestant Ilebaye Odiniya, Hon. Emmanuel Godson Odiniya, has opened up on a deepening family dispute, alleging neglect, financial strain and strained relations with his daughter.
Odiniya, in a video now circulating on social media, said he supported Ilebaye through her early auditions and eviction battles during her time in the reality show.
He claimed that after she emerged winner, their relationship deteriorated, alleging that she became distant and unresponsive to his efforts to reach her.
According to him, several attempts to reconcile and meet her were unsuccessful, even as he expressed a desire for them to jointly appreciate those who supported her rise to fame.
He further alleged that he had, on multiple occasions, urged Ilebaye to assist the less privileged and use part of her winnings for charity, claims he said she declined.
Odiniya also addressed reports surrounding lifestyle choices linked to his daughter, including cosmetic procedures, expressing concern over what he described as “too young for such decisions”.
He further alleged past domestic tensions within the family, claiming he often intervened in disputes between Ilebaye and her mother.
The father also accused his daughter of physical confrontations, while insisting that he acted in discipline amid provocation.
On financial matters, he claimed he had reached out to Ilebaye for support during a medical trip abroad due to hypertension, but was surprised to later see her publicly displaying wealth.
He also referenced longstanding marital issues, alleging instability in his home and eventual divorce proceedings influenced by family disagreements.
Odiniya, however, pleaded for calm, urging Nigerians to allow the family resolve its issues privately.
He added that although he had earlier been arrested following a reported altercation, the matter had since been settled, with police inviting him again.
The revelations have since sparked mixed reactions online, with many calling for restraint and private reconciliation within the family.
