Super Eagles coach, Stephen Keshi, says he’s looking beyond Nigeria’s faltering start to the qualifiers for the Africa Cup of Nations.
The embattled 52-year old has been heavily criticised for Nigeria’s poor start to the qualifiers, securing just one point from the opening two games, but he says the focus now is Sudan.
“We have to look beyond those games against Congo and South Africa, we have to look forward to the Sudan game now and we are preparing hard for the games.
“It is a bad start but that doesn’t mean we won’t qualify, because I’m sure we will. The players are showing serious commitment and it is obvious from the way they have been training,” he said.
The African Champions lie a disappointing third on the table with just a solitary point from a possible six, and Keshi knows hoe important the next games are, but says being third on the table doesn’t mean Nigeria won’t qualify.
“Being third in the group doesn’t mean we won’t qualify. It could actually be some kind of motivation for us and God willing we will qualify,” Keshi said.
