I’m still in APC, says Former PDP chairman

The longest serving chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kaduna State, Alhaji Makama Yaro Rigachikun, has denied his reported returning to the Peoples Democratic Party which he dumped in December 2013 for the All Progressives Congress (APC).

A close associate of the former PDP Chairman, Alhaji Ibrahim Danina refuted the report while addressing a press conference in Kaduna yesterday, saying the purported report of Alhaji Rigachikun’s return back to PDP broadcasted on a radio station recently was false.

Alhaji Danina described as false other reports going round that he may dump APC, saying his political philosophy is for cogent democracy, justice and development of Nigeria and not politics of deceit.

“I appealed to Rigachikun’s supporters to be calm and disregard the insinuation, which is best described as mischievous, because he is comfortable in the APC as it remained the only means of changing Nigeria’s dwindling fortunes.

“It is a lie and it has no substance that Alhaji Audi Yaro Makama Rigachikun has left our party, All Progressives Congress. And beyond that none of our leader is willing to leave the APC for the PDP.

“It all deceit and plan to cause confusion, we don’t know those planting the radio stories, but they will not succeed, because it is not true. We are all in APC to build the party and to move the country forward.”

Alhaji Danina also explained that Rigachikun is completely committed to the success of APC at all elections and will not bow down to mischief, saying, “He has made up his mind since last year after reviewing the politics and situation of the country. He has told them that he is leaving them and he left.

“Now we are in here working in line with what generality of our people want, and it is because of them that we are doing politics and so, it is ruse and mischief. We are in APC and you will see us in action”.
