The former controller of Nigerian Prisons, Mr. Akanam T. A. Effiok, has commiserated with the families and friends of about 15 young Nigerians who lost their lives during the last nationwide Nigerian Immigration recruitment exercise.

In a statement yesterday, the former Prison Service boss prayed that those who were injured, due to the unfortunate incident, would recover quickly.

While commending the Federal Government and the Ministry of Interior for the humane steps so far taken to address the national tragedy, the retired prisons controller appealed to Nigerians to show understanding as the Federal Government and the Interior Ministry were making efforts to unravel the remote and immediate causes of the ugly incident.
