From Ibrahim Sidi Muh’d, Gusau

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared Bakura state assembly bye-election inconclusive following gross irregularities.
This was announced by the Returning Officer, Professor Ibrahim Magawata soon after announcing the results of some of the verified polling units.
The returning officer explains that the decision to declare the election inconclusive followed a clear manifestation of gross malpractices like ballot box snatching, over voting, assault on INEC officers and subsequent violence.
He said as a result of this , the results of fourteen (14) polling units were canceled as a result of serious defects and this effects 11,429 voters.
Professor Magawata said the most wording incidence was missing of two adhoc INEC staff, which further add more suspicion to make the exercise acceptable.
He however discloses that the recorded acceptable authentic results from some polling centers shows that the APC scored 16464 while the PDP polled 18645.
