INEC registers 8.3m fresh Nigerians under ongoing CVR

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has registered a total of 8,271,647 Nigerians under its ongoing continuous voter registration, CVR, exercise.

The number of fresh registrants was as at Monday, 18th April, this year.

The figure was contained in an update provided by the Chief Press Secretary, CPS, to the INEC Chairman, Mr Rotimi Oyekanmi in Abuja yesterday.

The update put the number of completed registration within the period under review at 4,806,616.

The types of registration were online and physical.

While the number of fresh registrants captured online stood at 2,079,303, those registered physically were; 2,727,313.

A further breakdown of the registration indicated that 2,391,227 male and 

2,415,389 female were registered with the period.

The update put the number of people with disability (PWDs) registered within the period at 41,033, while the youth between the ages of 18 to 34 registered were; 3,318,267.

According to the CVR Update for Quarter 4, Week1 as at 7am, Monday 18th April 2022, “Fresh Registrants: 8,271,647. 

Completed Registration : 4,806,616.

“Type: Online – 2,079,303. Physical – 2,727,313.

“Male: 2,391,227. Female: 2,415,389

PWDs: 41,033.

“Youth (18- 34): 3,318,267”, the update showed.
