The Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC), Kebbi state Command, has eulogized Governor Nasir Idris for prioritizing security of lives and property through unprecedented investment in the sector.
The Chairman of the PCRC in Kebbi state, Engineer Dahiru Zauro, who led other members of the Executive Council Committee on a courtesy call on the Commissioner for Information and Culture Alhaji Yakubu Ahmed BK in Birnin Kebbi on Monday, said that it is on record that the governor made the investment in his belief that no development could take place without security of lives and property.
He said the PCRC in Kebbi state is satisfied with the attention which the government has given to security, pointing out that when people juxtapose the current development projects dotting the Kebbi landscape and the commitment that has been shown to deal with banditry through massive channeling of resources on welfare of troops and other complementary services, it will be clear that with support from the citizenry, Kebbi will soon experience peace and tranquility required for sustainable development and growth.
Engineer Zauro pledged to sensitise the people on their civic duty of providing intelligence information on criminals to the security forces, so as to make it difficult for bandits and other criminals to freely operate.
He said that with over 37 divisional police headquarters across the state and the same number of branches of the PCRC, their support will be critical to the restoration of peace across the state.
He commended the Kebbi State Police Command for its diligence and professionalism in dealing with crimes and the excellent working relationship with the citizens of Kebbi state.
Responding, Alhaji Yakubu Ahmed BK remarked that the Kebbi state government under governor Idris will continue to prioritize security in order to bring about economic development, political stability and social cohesion.
He said the massive investment by the government was meant to offer all necessary support to security agencies to effectively protect the people.
He said although insecurity is a worldwide problem, the government will spare no effort to ensure peace reign in all parts of Kebbi state.
