Insecurity: Gaidam pledges more incentives to boost vigilante operations

In appreciation for the gallantry and resilient effort of the state vigilante group who has been fighting against insurgency alongside the military and other security agencies in the state, Governor Ibrahim Gaidam has promised to give members of the group a yet to be mentioned bonus apart from their salaries to further boost their morales.
The governor made the pledge while handing over the keys of four newly procured Hilux pickup vehicles to the leader of the group, Tela Sarkin Baka, at the government house yesterday.
The governor said the gesture is in response to the realization that the group lacks operational vehicles which has hitherto, been limiting their operational capability and reach, adding that more would be procured to increase the number of their operational vehicle.
Speaking to newsmen shortly after receiving the vehicles, the leader said the governor has been very helpful to the group as a whole and individuals in terms of financial assistance especially for those injured during operations and for the families of those who lost their lives in the battle.
Earlier the governor had presented a donation of 20 newly procured Hillux pickup vehicles to the Nigerian military in the state to assist them in their operations.
While handing the over keys of the vehicles to the Chief of Army staff, Leut-General Yusuf Tukur Buratai at the Government House, the governor pointed out that the vehicle costs the state government the sum of N350 million.
Responding after taking the keys of the vehicle, the Chief of Army staff commended the governor for the kind gesture, assuring that the fight against insurgents would soon come to a reasonable.
