The Federal government on Monday announced the resumption of international flights from August 29, this year.
The announcement was made by the
Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika on his Twitter on Monday evening.
The international flights are, however, beginning with Lagos and Abuja as was done with the domestic flight resumption.
The Aviation Minister, in his tweets, said, “Glad to announce the resumption of international flights from the 29th of August, 2020.
“Beginning with Lagos and Abuja as we did with the domestic flight resumption,” Sirika concluded.
The various COVID-19 safety advisories are however to be put in place and strict protocols for operations observed.
It will be recalled that the Federal Government issued a ban on all international flights effective from the 23rd of March 2020
following the coronavirus pandemic which spread across most parts of the world.
The government however exempted emergency and essential flights for an initial period of time.
