The United Nation’s Children Fund (UNICEF) has urged Jigawa stakeholders to collaborate and ensure the increase budget allocations, releases and spending on child sensitive issues to meet the specific needs of children.
The call was made by the Chief of UNICEF Field Office Kano, Mr. Rahama Rihood Mohammed Farah during a media Dialogue on Child Sensitive Budgeting and Planning held at Manpower Development Institute Dutse.
He said, investing in Jigawa State’s children through Child-Sensitive Budgeting and Planning is an investment in the future of the state, given the fact that they have more than 1.5 million children under the age of 5 years in the state.
According to him, over the years, Jigawa state has made progress in improving the lives of children. However, as the data shows, many Jigawa children are being left behind.
