IPAC leadership crisis: Remain calm – Nzenwa tells State chapters

The Inter Party Advisory Council (IPAC) has asked urged the State chapters of the group to remain calm over the purported enthronement of a factional chairman by former chairman of the council, Peter Ameh.
In a statement issued yesterday by the embattled national chairman of IPAC, Leonard Nzenwa, IPAC said the Peter Ameh cannot build something on nothing, adding that it has never happened in the history of IPAC that non member will institute chairman of the council.
“Today, 8th September 2020, a court of competent jurisdiction gave an Order of interim injunction restraining Ralph Okey Nwosu whether by themselves, agents, servants, privies or howsoever described from acting, or parading as members of Central Management Committee of Inter Party Advisory Council (IPAC).
“We have done what is legal, and will continue in this manner.
“Whilst Ralph Okey Nwosu and his illegally constituted Central Management Committee took laws into their hands by breaking and entering into the National Secretariat of IPAC in the wee hours of September 4, 2020, to purport to constitute this amorphous committee, the authentic IPAC leadership led by Dr Leonard Nzenwa, approached the court to stop them from driving the name of IPAC in the mud.
“We abhor this kind of acts perpetrated by this set of individuals who are aware that you can not build something upon nothing. However, the Council cannot say much on this matter as it is sub judice.
“We will remain law abiding, responsible citizens of this great country and call on all State Chapters of IPAC and stakeholders to remain calm and disregard the so-called Central Management Committee whose purported acting president, Ralph Okey Nwosu enthroned by Peter Ameh, whose political party, Progressive Peoples Alliance is deregistered and a nonmember of IPAC pending when the Supreme Court delivers its judgment on the matter before it.
“We are acquitted that at no time in the history of IPAC has a non-IPAC member enthroned an IPAC member as a leader of the Council after it was deregistered by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC. The force of this commenced on February 6, 2020, when PPA was deregistered”, the statement issued by Nzenwa said.
