The national leadership of the Inter Party Advisory Council (IPAC) has queried its Plateau State chairman, Abubakar Dogara to explain why a disciplinary action should not be taken against him for the formation of an illegal body known as the ‘Northern IPAC Chairmen Forum’.
In a statement issued by the National Secretary of IPAC, Yusuf Dantalle, the council said it is in clear violation of the Council’s Code of Conduct, which only provides for National, States and Local Government Areas structures.
IPAC also queried Dogara for issuing a press statement, which it said was outside his jurisdiction using the same illegal body on matters of national interest already addressed by national leadership of IPAC.
He was directed to respond to the query within 48 hours or face disciplinary action along with other officials found culpable in his alleged gross misconduct.
IPAC also disowned the “Forum of Ex-IPAC Officers”, stating that it is illegal and unknown to IPAC Code of Conduct.
“Council warns all stakeholders to desist from any dealings with the purported forum. It also urges security agencies to take necessary action in a letter dated 3rd April 2023, copied to INEC Chairman, National Chairmen of Political Parties, Inspector General of Police, Director General of Department of State Service (DSS) and Civil Society Organizations”, the party said in the statement.
