JCI Aso inaugurates Felix Akinyemi as 25th national president

JCIN Ambassador Felix Akinyemi was inaugurated on Saturday as the 25th National President of Junior Chamber International (JCI) Aso during the organization’s 2024 convention in Abuja.

In his inaugural speech, Akinyemi pledged to steer the organization towards “Inspiring Change,” the theme for the year, which he described as a call to action.

“It reflects our shared vision of creating meaningful, lasting impact through collective action, bold innovation, and unwavering dedication,” he said.

Highlighting his vision for 2025, Akinyemi emphasized leveraging technology, fostering inclusivity, and promoting leadership development.

“Our greatest strength lies in our people,” he noted.

“Every member deserves support to reach their full potential and make a significant impact.”

The incoming president also outlined plans to celebrate JCI Aso’s 25th anniversary in 2025. “For two and a half decades, we have stood as a beacon of leadership, service, and innovation. This milestone provides an opportunity to reflect on our achievements and set bold goals for the future,” he said.

Outgoing president JCIN Ambassador Yetunde Adebisi, in her farewell address, urged members to sustain the momentum

. “Leadership is a shared responsibility, and together, we’ll continue to build on the great work we’ve done,” she said.

Adebisi also commended members for embracing digitalization and innovation, which, she said, had made the organization more agile and socially focused.

JCI Aso Alumni President, JCI Senator Collins Olaniyan, congratulated Akinyemi, recalling his own tenure two decades ago.

“I urge you to seize this opportunity and strive to lead the chapter to greater heights,” Olaniyan said.

In her remarks,the Director of Convention and Investiture, Mua Immaculate Odira, elaborated on the event’s theme, Timeless Synergy, Empowered Futures, which aligns with the organization’s commitment to membership growth, strategic partnerships, and sustainability.

“Our projects aim to develop young leaders and empower them to contribute to societal progress,” Odira stated.
