The Jos Electricity Distribution Company has said the reports of 2 months free power distribution to Nigerians is a proposal by the Federal Government and National Assembly which higher DisCos authorities have to consider before it become effective.
The JEDC in a statement signed by its head, Cooperate Communications, Friday Adakole Elijah said “it is instructive to all our customers to note that no decision to this effect has been communicated to us”.
Adakole said while the JEDC awaits final decision on the proposition put forward by National Assembly and the Federal Government, we urged our esteemed customers to continue to support our operations and not relent in paying bills so as to enables us meet the obligations to serve them better.
Recalled that the federal government had earlier announced the lifting of 2 month electricity bills to Nigerians as part of the palliative response to Covid-19.
The JEDC, however, pledged to fully cooperate with the proposal once a decision is reached upon.
