Jigawa Assembly suspends recruitment of teachers

The Jigawa state House of Assembly during its sitting on Tuesday ordered for the probe on how the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) recruited the new teachers in the state.
The assembly consequently suspended the list of 1,000 teachers earlier recruited.
The suspension of the list, followed a motion moved by a member representing Kazaure constituency Alhaji Bala Hamza Gada during the sitting.
The lawmaker said that the House need to form a committee that would trace the process of the immediate recruitment of new teachers as according to him, some local governments are complaining that the recruitment process is not fair to some local government.
The motion was seconded by the member representing Kafin Hausa Muhammad Abdullahi Bulangu who called on the House to suspend the new list till when the House Committee on Education go through and ensure that it’s fair to all local governments across the state.
The House sitting presided over by the Speaker, honourable Isah Idris Gwaram gave one week to the House Committee on Education to investigate the matter and report the feedback.
