Jigawa Govt Approves ₦3.5bn Loan For 2027 Hajj Seats

Jigawa State Government has agreed to release N3.5 billion as loan for the payment of the Hajj seats allocated to the state by the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria.

The State Executive Council gave the approval during its meeting on Monday.

The money will be released to the state Pilgrims Welfare Board to facilitate the payment of the 2027 Hajj seats deposit for 466 intending pilgrims from the state.

The loan will enable the pilgrims board to meet the deadline set by the National Hajj Commission as part of its efforts to comply with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s requirement for the early finalization of contractual agreements and advance payments for the 2027 Hajj operations.

The early payment will secure the Hajj seats allocated to the state and facilitate timely arrangements for accommodation, transportation, feeding, and other essential services for the intending pilgrims.

The government believes that the early deposit is strategic, as it will ensure seamless planning and efficient coordination of all activities relating to the 2027 Hajj exercise, while protecting the interests of the intending pilgrims.

The loan is expected to be repaid when the intending pilgrims make full payment for the Hajj seats.

The state government, therefore, urged all intending pilgrims to cooperate with the state pilgrims welfare board in complying with all registration requirements to ensure a smooth and successful Hajj exercise.
