Jigawa gov’t approves N1.147bn for TVET training of 150 instructors in China

The Jigawa State executive Council has approved the sum of N1,146,647,970.11 for the payment of expenses associated with the participation of 150 instructors in specialized training on Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) courses in the People’s Republic of China, as well as the related expenses for two Government officials accompanying the delegation.
State Commissioner for Information, Alhaji Sagir Musa Ahmed dropped the hint as part of the resolutions of the council meeting held on Monday at government House Dutse.
He explained that, the approval is part of the His Excellency’s administration commitment to strengthening Technical and Vocational Education and Training, enhancing the capacity of instructors and equipping them with modern skills and knowledge required to effectively train students in emerging technical and vocational fields.
According to him, Council approved the funds to cover the expenses of 150 instructors’ tuition and training fees, Accomodations, Visa fees, Health insurance, Air tickets, Visa physical examination, program services fees, living allowances and Yellow cards.
The Commissioner maintained that, approved sum also covers Estacode for two Government officials who will accompany and provide the necessary administrative and official support to the participating instructors.
He said the specialized training is expected to significantly enhance the professional capacity and technical competence of the participating instructors, particularly in the delivery of modern TVET courses and practical skills training.
The Commissioner added that the programme will expose the instructors to contemporary teaching methodologies, technical innovations, industry-relevant practices and modern approaches to vocational education.
The knowledge and skills acquired are expected to be transferred to students and other instructors within the State upon their return.
He assured that, the initiative will contribute to the development of a stronger and more responsive TVET system in Jigawa State, while improving the employability and entrepreneurial capabilities of young people through quality technical and vocational educationespecially in the 8no.new TVET Centers Established by the present administration and other 7no. existing Science and Technical Schools across the state.
