The Nigerian Export Promotion Council (NEPC) in collaboration with Jigawa state Government and Iya Foods LLC (USA) has lunched Hibiscus Export Expansion Programme.
Speaking at the launching ceremony,the Executive Director of Nigerian Export Promotion Council, Olusegun Awolowo who was represented by the Director Policy and Strategy Alhaji Sidi Aliyu said, the aim of launching the programme is to promote the exportation of Nigerian products to other foreign countries.
He explained that Jigawa state is one of the state that was blessed with many natural resources particularly the agricultural products worthy for exportation worldwide.
According to him, only with production of Hibiscus Jigawa state can have a very giant economy that can be defend for a better development.
He urged government to support farmers for bumper harvest as many international companies shows interest on Jigawa state’s products.
Also speaking during the lunch ceremony, the Jigawa state governor Alhaji Muhammad Abubakar Badaru who was represented by the Commissioner of finance Alhaji Umar Namadi said, Agricultural sector is one of the areas that present administration give priority for a real economic development.
The governor also promised to continue supporting farmers particularly the grass root farmers for a better economic growth and development.
