Jigawa industrialization: Gov Badaru reads riot act to defaulters

The Jigawa State Governor Alhaji Muhammad Abubakar Badaru has restated his intention to fight anybody who challenges the state government’s effort at industrializing the state.
Governor Badaru dropped the hint yesterday while receiving the delegate from the corporate body of Nice Textile Mills Limited at Government House Dutse.
He explained that, it is unfortunate that the state government is doing it’s best to industrialise the state, while on the other hand some unpatriotic people are busy fighting the effort.
Governor Badaru who insisted that, industrialising Jigawa is not an opposition but compulsory, said Jigawa has no strong means of generating internally revenue with high increase of unemployment among the teeming youths in the state.
“Jigawa State heavily depend on federal government grant while we can only internally generate N400-N500 million monthly and we spend over N4 billion on worker’s salary, over N450 million for school feeding, N100 million for water supply, N100 million for streetlight, over N300 million for students scholarship apart from overhead cost and other monthly expenses.
“ Therefore for a better future of our state, we must diversify the economy from dependent economy to independent economy through use of potentials available in the state,” gov Badaru said.
According to him, the present administration woo a lot of local and international investors to the state, while at the same time persuaded federal government to establish electricity power substations in the state.
He then, urged both traditional rulers and general public in the state to support government’s effort of making Jigawa an industrialised state for a better Jigawa in the future.
While making his remarks at the visit, the Chairman Nice Corporate Textile Services, Alhaji Auwal Lawal promised that the company will provide hospital, school and donation of Zakkat to the Dabi community where the company is situated.
He said, the construction of Nice Textile Services Limited will consume over 120 million dollars while about 6,000 people would get direct jobs in the company.
