Police stops robbery, conspiracy attempts in Plateau

The Plateau State Police Command said it has ceased several attempts of armed-robbery and criminal conspiracy by some unambitious persons that had resolve to ravage peaceful being of the state in recent weeks.
The command also said it has recorded these successes through its various operational units including, Anti Kidnapping Units (AKU) as well as Operation Puff Adder.
The State Commissioner of Police, CP Isaac Akinmoyede, in a press briefing held Tuesday, at Police headquarters Jos, said “On 11/02/2020 at about 3am, Operatives of Operation Puff Adder/ Anti Kidnapping Unit (AKU) of the Command received information from a Good Samaritan that armed robbers were Operating at Lamingo Gwafan Housing Estate along Golf Club Jos”.
He said in no time, the operative raced to the scene of the incident and on sighting their arrival, the marauders engaged them in a gun duel but fortunately, three of the hoodlums were shot dead while others took to their heels.
He said One AK 47 rifle with breach No. 21165 containing 3 live ammunition, four handsets and two jack knives were recovered, nothing, investigation is ongoing.
CP Akinmoyede further revealed that “On 09/02/2020 at about 6:45pm, Police Patrol Team attached to ‘A’ Division Police Station Jos while on patrol along Alheri axis Jos, rescued and brought to the station one Francis Pam aged 23 years who was about to be lynched by angry youths for alleged armed robbery where one of his accomplice was killed.
He noted that dreadful elements recovered from the suspect includes, one locally made revolver pistol and one unregistered Boxer motorcycle, nothing, the suspect will be charged to court as soon as investigation is completed”.
The Commissioner further unveiled that “On 07/02/2020 at about 2:52pm, one Abubakar Mohammed from Gel Gagare Jol Village of Riyom LGA, Plateau State reported at Riyom Divisional Police Headquarters that his son, named Bashiru Abubakar aged 21 was shot on his right leg by two suspected Berom youth”.
