Jigawa Miyetti Allah prepare for showdown with SSG

Date:

The Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN), in Jigawa, is preparing for a show-down with the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), over what they described as the lack-luster attitude towards the plight of the Fulani tribe in the state.

The association had, in its meeting comprising all the 27 chairmen from all the state local governments have unanimously agreed to withdraw their representative from a committee set-up under the SSG to handle Fulani and farmers clashes.

The information came from the Miyetti Allah Association yesterday, signed by its State Chairman, Alhaji Ya’u Haruna and issued to Peoples Daily in Dutse.

According to the statement, “After due consultations and meetings with our 27 chairmen we have unanimously come to terms that the state Chairman of our association, Alhaji Ya’u Haruna should resign his appointment under the committee in the SSG’s office”.

Findings by our reporter revealed that parts of what the association may have been complaining about include alleged high-handedness, arrogance and disrespect for the Fulani by the SSG whom they accused of openly attacking them whenever he has the opportunity.

They said the SSG is running the committee without due consultations with its members with which their Chairman is a member.
