The internal crisis in Jigawa state chapter of People’s Democratic Party (PDP) is deeping as the Malam Aminu Ibrahim Ringim’s faction insisted on their position that there is no party congresses in the state.
The stand was announced during a press conference organised by the members of the faction and headed by Alhaji Mukhatari Ibrahim Gagarawa yesterday at Dutse the state capital.
He explained that, their faction still maintained it position that since May 2020, the tenure of state excos elapsed, and since then there is no party leadership at both ward, local government and state levels.
“As per as we are concerned, since the expiration of of the tenure of the elected party executives at all levels in the state by May 2020, to this day 8th March, 2021 .The PDP chapter of Jigawa state had been leadless without elected leaders,except for the Inglourious Hon Mungadi led state caretaker committee whose tenure was renewed for a number of times”
“PDP is greater than any individual member, no matter his position in the party or his antecedents, we would neither be cowed or intimidated by any party leader who believes could violates the provisions of section 32(2) (j) and section 49 (3) respectively of the constitution of the PDP (as amended) and it electoral guidelines with impunity and go scot-free,” he said.
According to him, the faction already appealed to court of appeal waiting for court verdict for final action.
He then called on their members to remain calm as the People’s Democratic Party PDP is belong to all members not one person no matter the level of his position.
It can be recalled that, the National working committee of the party formef a caretakers committees and conducted the congresses at all level of leadership in the state
