Jigawa saves N432m in health workers verification

The Jigawa state government said, no fewer than N432 million was saved after health workers verification from April,2017 to date.
The state Commissioner for Health, Dr Abba Zakari dropped the hint yesterday while reviewing his two years achievement in office to news men at state secretariat Dutse.
He explained that, from April 2017, the state government led by Governor Badaru’s administration succeeded in saving N54 million naira monthly from ministry of health.
According to him, after the discovery of the funds, the state government injected the amount in the same sector of health to improve the sector for a betterment of the citizens in the state.
Dr Zakari said that, some of the projects executed with saved funds include the recruitment of 540 health workers,119 midwives and 45 nurses across the state.
He added that, the saved money also was used and sponsored sixty less privilege students to study Medicine in China with additional 200 students that studying Medicines at various universities across the country.
The Commissioner then urged the people in the state to support the APC administration’s effort in the state for a better health services delivery in the state.
