The Speaker Jigawa State House of Assembly, Hon. Idris Garba has paid an usual courtesy visit to the new Commissioner of Police to the state.
The Speaker, who led his members’ to the office of CP in police headquarters Dutse said, though the visit is unusual as it is first of its kind in the state, is to strengthen relationship between the lawmakers and the police in the state.
The Speaker and his members arrived at the Jigawa state police headquarters in a white 30- seater bus, on getting entrance to the CP’s office the speaker gave directives to stop any journalists access to the office until they finished close door meeting.
Answering questions from journalists on why he paid the visit to the CP instead of the C P to visit him, the Speaker angrily replied to the journalists that “who told you this, what is your name? you better go back to your book,” he said.
Responding, the new CP, Usman Gwamna expressed delight on the visit and promised to work hand in hand with the legislators whenever the need arise.
