JIMAF urged to increase effort for better health services delivery in Jigawa

A non governmental organisation popularly known as Women Integrated Services for Health (WISH), has urged members of civil societies and media under the platform of Jigawa state Maternal Newborn and child Accountability Forum (JIMAF), to increase effort toward achieving better health delivery in the state.
The call was made by the National Sustainability Lead of WISH Mr Michael Olowuyi during a one-day review meeting of the forum held at SOCU conference hall new secretariat Dutse.
He expressed the need for members of JIMAF to restrategise towards tackling the challenges of untimely release of funds and lack of fully implementation of some policies in the state.
According to him, the meeting highlighted the gaps and lapses that was not achieved in the last quarter and planning on how to address the gaps in the next quarter.
He then, called on the state government to improve its health budget allocation and timely releases to enable the sector tackle the huge challenges militating against its service delivery.
While speaking at the meeting, the JIMAF chairman comrade Baffa Nayaya identified some programs like state conditional cash transfer to pregnant women in the state, Basic Healthcare Provision Fund (BHCPF) program as part of programs to be monitored by the members of the forum for effective delivery.
He said, a full implementations of basic healthcare provision funds and state conditional cash transfer to pregnant women will seriously help in reduction of maternal mortalities in the state.
