Jama’atul Nasril Islam (JNI) has said the abduction of about 200 final year secondary school female students in Chibok, as reported by the media is another shocking story regarding the unfortunate happenings in Nigeria, especially the north.
JNI, in a statement signed by the Secretary-General Khalid Abubakar Aliyu made available to newsmen in Kaduna described the incident as quite unfortunate and painfully confusing.
He said despite the state of emergency imposed on Borno state for a long time with the attendant huge amount of resources earmarked for security operatives, and despite the presence of uniformed security men at checkpoints which are strategically located at closed intervals, this horrific act could still happen.
“JNI condemns this act of barbarism in the strongest terms and calls on the authorities concerned to put all the needed efforts to free these innocent girls and get them continue with their studies.
“We sympathize with the victims and their teachers and families at this traumatizing moment and pray that Allah will end their agony in the shortest possible time.
“JNI also calls on all Muslims in the country to intensify Qunut and du’a so that Allah (SWT) will unveil and deal with all the perpetrators of these activities,” the statement read.
Similarly, ACF’s National Publicity Secretary, Muhammad Ibrahim, condemned the abduction, saying it’s sad, painful and unfortunate that such incident of abduction of students by insurgents in a state where you have an emergency rule with heavy presence of military and other security agencies could take place.
“ACF condemns this wicked act of terrorism against innocent students who do not even understand the grievances of the insurgents. ACF calls on the security agencies to intensify effort in search of the kidnappers and their victims.
“ACF equally sympathises with the parents and relatives of the students and pray that the abductors release them in good health. May God continue to protect us,” he said.’
