Jonathan appoints Kutigi Confab chair, Akinyemi deputy

President Goodluck Jonathan has appointed retired Justice Idris Legbo Kutigi as the chairman of the forthcoming National Conference.

A statement issued yesterday by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Mr. Anyim Pius Anyim, also named Professor Bolaji Akinyemi as Vice Chairman, while Dr. (Mrs) Valerie Azinge is to serve as Secretary.

The short statement said: “His Excellency, Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, GCFR, President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, has approved the appointment of the Leadership of the National Conference as follows: Honourable Justice Idris Lebo Kutigi – Chairman; Prof. Bolaji Akinyemi-Vice Chairman (and) Dr. (Mrs.) Valerie Azinge -Secretary.”‘

The statement added that: “The appointees are to resume at Abuja tomorrow, Wednesday, March 5, 2014 and would be received on arrival by the SGF.
